The jangle of carnival music and air redolent with fresh dirt, fried foods and livestock are coming to Douglas with the return of the Wyoming State Fair and Rodeo Aug. 13-17.

An all-Wyoming lineup of country rock is in store for live music fans Thursday night, and rodeo and livestock judging competitions are jampacked throughout the week. Chancey Williams and the Younger Brothers Band headlines a show that also features Sean Curtis and Tris Munsick.

Amid the activity, visitors won’t want to miss the chance to visit the Wyoming Mercantile, home of gifts, artwork, beauty products, fashion and more made right here in Wyoming.

The Mercantile is operated and managed by Made in Wyoming, the Wyoming Business Council’s state-branded program to market locally manufactured products.

The store is open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day of fair and features more than 50 vendors.

“We’ve got some wonderful companies and great artisans who are creating high-quality products,” said Terri Barr, program manager for Made in Wyoming. “Small businesses like these are the heart and soul of Wyoming, and we’re proud of their work.”

The Business Council will also host a farmers market from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sat., Aug. 17, at the tent behind the wool barn. Several vendors will showcase their products, such as produce, meats and baked goods.
